FAQ
1.Q: Can XP3.1 be used on any kind of helicopter, such as gasoline engine electric motor and methanol machine?
A: XP3.1 can be used on all kinds of helicopters. There are the instructions and cautions for different engines in product manual.
2.Q: Are there any special requirement of the system to TX?
A: Please use the TX with at least 7 channels and all channels have the fail-safe function..
3.Q: What is the maximum speed of the controller? Can users change the maximum speed?
A: The maximum speeds for different directions are shown in the following table. The maximum speeds can’t be changed by users. If you have some special requests for the speed, please contact us.
| Forward-Backward | Left-Right | Up-Down |
|
± 30-60 km/h |
±14.4km/h | ±7.2km/h |
4.Q: Must the helicopter with gasoline or methanol engine be equipped with GV1?
A: Yes, GV1 makes the engine lock the rotation speed. Automatic control realization is based on the case of constant speed when engine’s RPM is locked.
5.Q: Is there any requirement to the ESC?
A: Please use an ESC with a RPM locking function.
6.Q: Do we need to connect battery to the RX?
A: No, RX’s power is supplied by the Adapter. No other battery is needed.
7.Q: Shall I use a 7.4V battery to supply the power to control system and the servos which is connected to control system with a regulator?
A: No. The control system and the servos must be supplied by different batteries placed in different places for avoiding the mutual interference by the current change to enhance reliability.
8.Q: Where can we connect the battery to the servos?
A: Connect to the BATT socket of the “servo out” on Adaptor.
9.Q: What is the channel Aux used for?
A: It is used for the 4-servo swash plate helicopter.
10.Q: Can GPS & compass be connected to any of the four EXT. sockets on Adapter?
A: No, it should be only connected to the No.1 EXT. socket.
11.Q: How to measurate C.G. of the helicopter?
A:Remove the main rotor, tie a long line with heavy hammer to the tail pipe, raise the helicopter's tail, and then let the helicopter and the line fall naturally. And the intersection point of the line and the helicopter is the C.G. of helicopter.
12. Q: How to inverse the direction of the swash plate in Swash Mix of XP configure when adjusting the software of PC ?
A: Turn the rear percentage into negative one.
13. Q: There is no response or it need a little time to response though I push the
stick to the top as instructed in the software when calibrating the PITCH channel. Why?
A: If users use an electric helicopter, maybe the throttle curve is stretched level. Since the throttle and the pitch are controlled by a same stick, user is calibrating throttle channel at the same time calibrating the pitch channel . But if the throttle curve is level, the software could not read the change value of the throttle, so the calibration is not complete. So when user calibrates the pitch, he must set the last point of the throttle curve to the 100% position. Then user could set the throttle curve as usual after finishing the calibration as mentioned.
14.Q: Do I need to calibrate the channel every time I reset the curve of the channel?
A: If you change the setting of the channel's curve, you need to recalibrate; if you change the curve's end point or its travel adjustment , you must recalibrate the channel. Otherwise you don't need to.
15.Q: Should the white LED be constantly on without any exceptional every circle when calibrating the compass?
A: The white LED don't need to be constantly on for all the time. Some flashes can be ignored for it . But don’t let the LED off at the same direction when rotating over once.
16.Q: Do I need to reboot the system when changing the controller parameters?
A: Of course not. But please reboot the system after calibrating the compass.
17.Q: What is the reason for the white LED sparkling or flashing while flying?
A: There are three possible reasons: First, compass calibration fails. The white LED flashes or sparkles especially when helicopter is rotating. Second: Helicopter's attitude is not suitable to switch into auto-mode. If the helicopter is flying without hash movements, it maybe result from the vibration for the improper adjustment of the helicopter's mechanics. Third: After some hash movements, there are some confusedly errors while calculating attitude.
18.Q: What's the reason for helicopter's drifting after switching into auto- mode?
A: If helicopter drifts slowly only in one direction, it maybe result from moving of some strick accidentally when the user switches the helicopter into auto mode. This is always caused by some input of a stick when switching into the auto mode. If such situation occurs, there is an easy solution to handle this. What you need to do is only release all sticks and switch to manual mode and then switch into auto-mode quickly.
19.Q: What's the SD card used for?
A: SD card is used for recording the flight data. We can analyze the flight data if there are some problems. Please don't format the SD card but delete the old data regularly for leaving enough space to record news data.
20.Q: Why I can't boot the system normally sometimes, just like there is no power?
A: It is the reason that the interval time of power off and on is too short. If this occurs, please power off for at least for 15 seconds, and then boot the system. Everything will be OK by this way.
21.Q:How about your system with flybarless helicopter?new
A: Now our system can not use on the flybarless helicopter alone. But you can use some other electronic system with flybarless function just like V-bar system etc. And we have tested them on Trex 600 without flybar. Also a distributor of our company has tested them on three-blade main rotor turbine helicopter. If you install the electronic flybarless system together with our system, please connect the as follow order: Rx----Adapter----Flybarless system----servo. And just set “normal”for the servo configuration in our controller and let electronic flybarless system to do the CCPM mixing. In our future version we will add the flybarless function to our controller.
